Maruti Suzuki is about to launched the much awaited Ciaz some time in the first half of October, which is replacing the men’s SX4. Maruti has performed rigorous testing on this mid-segment offering of theirs, which was evident by the frequent spots of their test mules on Indian roads. The sedan carries forward the big men car feel associated with the replaced SX4, production for which has been discontinued now.

With four horizontally running strips,and a big Suzuki emblem sitting on them in the middle, the front of Ciaz get a big grill feel. The large projector headlamps are sweeping upwards alike other Maruti cars. Ciaz could be the longest car in its segment, though its height is less than that of the outgoing SX4, which gives it a sporty look. The wheelbase has been increased to 4545 mm, which suggest that back seat comfort has got some priority.

The tail-lamp of Ciaz looks very similar to the new Honda City, the recessed space in the bumper which incorporates reflectors, helps in differentiation. The car is not coming with twin exhausts as showcased on the concept version.

On the inside the sedan will have a dual tone dashboard with wooden trim inserts, which will also extend on the door panels. The Ciaz will feature a 6-speaker audio system, rear AC vents , driver side arm rest , electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors , a deal pedal, front & rear power windows , remote central locking, rear defogger, speed sensitive auto-lock feature for the doors and a Tilt adjustable steering wheel. Sources suggest these features will be standard on all variants.

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is being offered in two variants, a 1.4 litre 1373 cc K series powerplant, which it with the Ertiga, producing 95 PS. The Ciaz diesel will be powered by everywhere available the 1.3 DDIS engine sourced from Fiat, tuned for 90 PS of power and 200 NM of torque.
